Sara Ali Khan’s latest film ‘Murder Mubarak’ has recently premiered on an OTT platform, and she’s now gearing up for the release of her upcoming project ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. Known for her candidness and independent voice, Sara, who portrays freedom fighter Usha Mehta in ‘Ae Watan..’, opened up about the significant influence of strong women in her life during a conversation with ETimes.
Reflecting on her upbringing with a predominantly single mother (following her parents’ separation when she was young), Sara emphasized the pivotal role it played in shaping her independence. “Living with a single mother has a huge role to play in my life. At a very early age, I realized that koi aapke liye kuch karne nahi wala,” she shared. “Strength comes from within you,” she added, highlighting the importance of self-reliance.
Expressing her pride in her upcoming film, Sara revealed, “It is the most gratifying experience to be headlining a film like this. It’s about time, because you’re going to see a side of me which even I have not seen before.” She confessed that she hadn’t felt this level of pride since her debut in ‘Kedarnath’, stating, “I’m really proud of myself. The last time I felt like that was during ‘Kedarnath’. I’m being honest.”
Throughout the conversation, Sara emphasized the necessity of self-initiative and self-belief, underscoring her journey towards personal growth and fulfillment in the film industry.
