Debut director Abishan Jeevinth’s film, starring Sasikumar and Simran in the lead, has been titled Tourist Family. The makers announced on Friday with a title teaser glimpse where we are introduced to the Sri Lankan Tamil family of Sasikumar’s character. They are making arrangements to flee the nation, and all preparation takes place in a funny way, with each one in the family having their own priority. The glimpse suggests that the film will handle the topic of migration in a lighter vein.
Simran was last seen in the Prashanth starrer Andhagan, which is an official remake of Ayushmann Khurana’s Andha Dhun. She also has Sabdham and The Last One in her pipeline. Meanwhile, Sasikumar previously starred in Era Saravanan’s Nandhan, and he has Evidence and Freedom up next.
Tourist Family is produced by Pasilian Nazerath, Magesh Raj Pasilian and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment banners. Apart from the male and female leads, the film also stars Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bucks, Elango Kumaravel and Sreeja Ravi.
The film’s technical crew comprises music composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan, editor Barath Vikraman, art director Raj Kamal, and lyricist Mohan Rajan. Without giving a specific release window, the makers announced the film will be released in theatres in 2025.
