Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, known for her roles in ‘Mirzapur’ and ‘The Broken News’, shared a heartwarming anecdote about her mother’s reaction to watching ‘Mirzapur’. She revealed that her mother, Supriya Pilgaonkar, initially hesitated due to the show’s violence but eventually watched it to support her daughter.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Shriya recounted, “Mom couldn’t even watch ‘Mirzapur’ because it’s such a violent show. So, I had to force her, telling her that it was my first series and to watch it for me despite the violence.” She described how her mother became emotional during the climax scene, unable to watch due to fear for her daughter’s character.
“It was too much for her,” Shriya explained, “but she watched it because of me. Later, she said, ‘Why did you force me to watch it, but you did well.'” Despite the difficulty, Supriya Pilgaonkar appreciated Shriya’s performance, especially her portrayal of Sweety in the series.
Shriya Pilgaonkar recently appeared in the second season of ‘Broken News’ on OTT platforms, showcasing her versatile acting alongside Jaydeep Ahlawat and Sonali Bendre.
