Amidst the aftermath of Cyclone Michuang causing widespread destruction in Chennai and several northern districts of Tamil Nadu, notable actors from the Tamil film industry, Suriya and Karthi, have emerged as pillars of support for the affected communities.
In a display of solidarity, the real-life brothers have generously contributed a financial aid of Rs. 10 lakh to four severely impacted districts—Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur. These areas grappled with heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding on December 4, prompting urgent relief efforts from both governmental bodies and social activists.
Suriya and Karthi’s benevolent gesture extends beyond monetary assistance. The actors, through their respective fan clubs, have been actively involved in distributing essential supplies to those stranded in the inundated regions. Their philanthropic endeavors have garnered widespread appreciation from the public, as the brothers continue to exemplify their commitment to societal well-being.
The duo’s compassionate involvement is anticipated to inspire other actors within the Tamil film fraternity to join hands in supporting the ongoing relief efforts undertaken by the Tamil Nadu government.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Suriya is in the final stages of shooting for ‘Kanguva,’ directed by Siruthai Siva. Simultaneously, Karthi is immersed in his upcoming project with director Nallan Kumarasamy, the title of which is yet to be unveiled. With a busy schedule ahead, Karthi is poised to commence work on his film with director Premkumar of ’96’ fame, demonstrating resilience both on and off the screen.
