Actor Tiku Talsania recently shared his experiences working with renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, highlighting Bhatt’s unique and often eccentric working style. Talsania, celebrated for his roles in iconic ’90s films such as “Andaz Apna Apna,” “Coolie No 1,” and “Jodi No 1,” provided intriguing insights into Bhatt’s filmmaking approach in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla.
Talsania recalled a particularly memorable incident that exemplified Bhatt’s unconventional methods. During a shoot, Bhatt turned to Talsania and asked, “Tu bata camera kahan lagana hai?” (You tell me where to place the camera). Talsania was taken aback, admitting he didn’t have an answer. However, Bhatt insisted, leading Talsania to suggest a location. To his surprise, Bhatt confirmed, “Yahi toh lagana tha mujhe” (This is exactly where I wanted to place it). This exchange highlighted Bhatt’s collaborative spirit and willingness to embrace input from his actors, even in crucial technical decisions.
Talsania further elaborated on Bhatt’s propensity for last-minute changes, describing how the director often made spontaneous decisions that could alter the course of a film. In another anecdote, Talsania recounted how Bhatt cast him in a film on a whim. “Once he just called me to meet him casually, and as I was walking towards him, he looked at me and said, ‘You are doing this role.’ I was like, what role?” This illustrates Bhatt’s instinctual approach to casting and storytelling, relying on gut feelings and immediate impressions.
Currently, Tiku Talsania is gearing up for his role in the upcoming film “Vaar Tahevaar,” directed and written by Chinmay Purohit. In an interview with Etimes, Talsania expressed his excitement about the project, emphasizing the well-crafted script. He described his character as a “happy-go-lucky man who lives in a house with his wife and his daughter.” Talsania added, “He has a dream, as every father does, of seeing his daughter get married and live happily ever after.”
The makers of “Vaar Tahevaar” have also unveiled a captivating behind-the-scenes video ahead of the film’s August release, further building anticipation for this much-awaited project.
