In a much-anticipated development, Tovino Thomas’ upcoming film, initially titled ‘Nadikar Thilakam,’ has undergone a significant change. The movie, directed by Lal Jr., has now been rechristened as ‘Nadikar,’ putting an end to the controversy surrounding its original title.
The initial choice of ‘Nadikar Thilakam’ stirred emotions among fans, particularly those devoted to the memory of the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, often hailed as ‘Nadigar Thilagam’ for his remarkable versatility on screen. The decision to alter the title was officially disclosed by none other than Sivaji Ganesan’s son and actor, Prabhu.
During the unveiling of the new title, Prabhu expressed the sentimental significance attached to his father’s iconic moniker. He shared insights into how he became aware of the film’s title when fans reached out to him, expressing their concerns. Prabhu revealed that upon contacting Lal, the director, he was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was Lal’s son overseeing the project. In a heartfelt request, Prabhu conveyed the emotional connection to the sobriquet and suggested the possibility of a title change. The makers, in a commendable gesture, responded positively to the request, prompting the alteration.
Tovino Thomas, the lead actor, took to social media to unveil the new title poster, sharing the excitement over the change. The poster for ‘Nadikar’ was presented with the caption, “Presenting the first look poster of ‘Nadikar.’ New name, same extraordinary story. #Nadikar.”
