Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough have been confirmed as the hosts for The Oscars Red Carpet Show, the official precursor to the 96th Oscars scheduled for March 10, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Hudgens, marking her third consecutive year as the host, will be joined by Hough for the first time in this 30-minute special. The pre-show is set to provide an in-depth look at nominees, performers, and presenters, offering viewers a comprehensive view of the red-carpet arrivals at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Prior to the official pre-show, ABC News plans to broadcast a live Oscars pre-show titled “Countdown to Oscars: On the Red Carpet Live!” The coverage will be available on ABC News Live until the commencement of the Oscar ceremony. Hosting live from the red carpet will be ABC News anchor Linsey Davis and Good Morning America weekend co-anchor Whit Johnson.
The event is poised to include previews of the Academy Awards ceremony, live interviews with nominees and presenters, and an exclusive preview of the Governors Ball after-party. Joining Davis and Johnson for their Oscar reporting debut are GMA3: What You Need to Know co-anchors Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan, ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly, ABC News contributors Kelley Carter and Mike Muse, Variety senior awards editor Clayton Davis, and celebrity stylist Joe Zee.
Post the Oscars broadcast, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are scheduled to present Live with Kelly and Mark from the Dolby Theatre on Monday morning. The show will feature Sebastian Maniscalco, Elaith Welteroth, Jesse Palmer, and a musical performance from Andy Grammer.
The 96th Oscars ceremony is slated to take place on Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, with Jimmy Kimmel set to host the prestigious event, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
