Actor Vikram is gearing up for the release of his period action drama ‘Thangalaan,’ directed by Pa Ranjith, set to hit theatres on August 15. The film’s makers, along with the cast, are on a nationwide promotional tour. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Sunday, Chiyaan Vikram addressed rumors about his involvement in the tentatively titled ‘SSMB 29.’ Vikram clarified that while he is good friends with SS Rajamouli and they have discussed collaborating on a film, no specific project or timeline has been decided.
Currently, director Rajamouli is working on the pre-production of ‘SSMB 29,’ starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Nasser has been chosen to coach the cast and crew in the dialect, and reports suggest that actor Prithviraj Sukumaran will play the main antagonist. Official updates on the film are still awaited.
Meanwhile, the audio launch of Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ is scheduled to take place in Chennai today. The film, set in the KGF region, depicts the exploitation of tribal people and their resources under British rule. ‘Thangalaan’ features Vikram, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Malavika Mohanan, and Daniel Caltigarone in lead roles, with music composed by GV Prakash.
