Director Vineeth Sreenivasan’s upcoming film ‘Varshangalkku Shesham,’ featuring Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, has been creating a buzz in the Malayalam film industry ahead of its release. In a recent interview with Asianet News, Vineeth shared some intriguing details about the film’s creation, highlighting the invaluable contributions of veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan in recreating the ambiance of 1970s Madras.
Vineeth revealed that he sought feedback from Priyadarshan, who spent his formative years in Madras during the 1970s and 80s. This creative collaboration proved to be crucial as Priyadarshan provided essential details about Swami’s Lodge, a key setting in the film, and shared experiences from a film studio that were seamlessly integrated into the narrative.
Priyadarshan’s contributions have enriched the script of ‘Varshangalkku Shesham,’ a film set against the backdrop of the Malayalam film industry. The movie explores two timelines – the 1970s and the present.
Newcomer Amrith Ramnath has composed the original score for the film, promising a unique blend of nostalgia and contemporary storytelling.
Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan will be portraying the protagonists, with Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead. The film also features a cameo appearance by popular star Nivin Pauly, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. However, the recently released songs from the film have received mixed reviews.
