In a glittering celebration of cinematic and television excellence, the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took center stage, recognizing outstanding performances across various categories. The prestigious awards, voted upon by SAG-AFTRA members, showcased the best in film and TV talent, with a notable milestone – the SAG Awards became the first-ever award show to be globally streamed on OTT platforms.
In the film category, the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture went to “Oppenheimer,” while Cillian Murphy secured the title of Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the same film. Lily Gladstone took home the trophy for Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role for “Killers of the Flower Moon.” Robert Downey Jr. was honored with the award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his contribution to “Oppenheimer,” and Da’Vine Joy Randolph clinched the title of Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role for “The Holdovers.”
Turning to the television realm, “Succession” earned the accolade for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, while “The Bear” claimed victory in the Comedy Series category. Steven Yeun was recognized as the Outstanding Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for his role in “Beef,” and Ali Wong secured the female counterpart in the same category.
In the drama series acting categories, Pedro Pascal triumphed as the Outstanding Male Actor for “The Last of Us,” while Elizabeth Debicki claimed the female counterpart for “The Crown.” In the comedy series, Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri were crowned as the Outstanding Male and Female Actors, respectively, for their performances in “The Bear.”
The stunt categories saw “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” winning Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, and “The Last of Us” securing the same accolade in the television series category.
