KatzSmith Productions, the company founded by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, has announced the addition of Wynn Wygal to their team in the role of President of Production. Wygal, who most recently served as Senior Vice President of Production at Thomas Tull’s Teton Ridge Entertainment, managed both scripted and non-scripted Film and TV projects while also launching a new podcast division.
Prior to her role at Teton Ridge, Wygal was Director of Development at Mad Chance Productions, led by Andrew Lazar. During her tenure there, she contributed to notable films such as the Oscar-winning American Sniper and the Oscar-nominated Nyad. Wygal’s previous positions also include Vice President of Film at Parkes + MacDonald and Aftershock Media. At Aftershock Media, she was involved in various Film and TV projects, including the packaging of Dead Day, created by Ryan Parrott and showrun by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. Though the project was sold straight to series at Peacock, it did not proceed.
David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith expressed their enthusiasm about Wygal’s appointment, citing her extensive experience, exceptional taste, and valuable industry connections as key assets for the company’s growth in film and television.
Founded in 2011, KatzSmith Productions is known for its successful projects, including the anthology series Just Beyond for Disney+ and the 2017 hit It, which remains the highest-grossing horror film of all time. The company is currently in a first-look deal with Lionsgate Television.
