Yash and Nayanthara are set to collaborate for the first time in ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’, alongside Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Shruti Haasan. This ambitious pan-Indian project, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is set against the backdrop of the drug mafia spanning the 1950s to the 1970s.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the film’s expansive world of ‘Toxic’ is meticulously crafted to be both larger-than-life and authentic. The detailed set, located on the outskirts of Bangalore, promises to captivate audiences with its immersive portrayal of the era.
Initially announced in December 2023, the film is scheduled for release on April 10, 2025. Kareena Kapoor Khan was originally slated to make her South Indian film debut as Yash’s sister but later withdrew from the project, with Nayanthara stepping into the role. Shruti Haasan, who recently starred opposite Prabhas in ‘Salaar’, now portrays Yash’s love interest in the film.
‘Toxic’ marks Yash’s 19th film and is produced by Venkat K Narayana. A teaser video released recently hints at the narrative’s depth, encapsulated by the tagline, “A fairytale for grown-ups.”
