Actors Priya Mani Raj and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who have previously shared the screen in hit films such as ‘Raavanan’, ‘Sathyam’, ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’, ‘Thirakkatha’, ‘Pathinettam Padi’, and ‘Kadhal Mudichu’, are gearing up for a box office clash. Their upcoming Hindi movies, ‘Maidaan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, are both set to release on Eid, April 11.
In a recent interview, Priya Mani opened up about the clash, revealing that she and Prithviraj have not discussed the simultaneous release of their films. She mentioned that they haven’t been in touch for a while but wished him all the best. Priya also expressed her excitement to see Prithviraj portray the antagonist in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, confident that he has delivered an outstanding performance.
Reflecting on their successful collaboration, Priya remarked that they have acted together in six films, most of which have been blockbuster hits. She praised Prithviraj’s contributions to the Malayalam film industry, both as an actor and director, and mentioned hearing positive feedback about his recent film, ‘The Goat Life’. She hopes to watch it soon.
‘Maidaan’, a sports biopic, has already received positive reviews from film critics ahead of its much-anticipated release. The film features Ajay Devgn in the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, the legendary coach and manager of the Indian football team. Rahim led the team during its golden era from 1952 to 1962, achieving notable successes including two Asian Games gold medals and a semifinal appearance at the 1956 Olympics.
Meanwhile, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and boasts a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.
