Ahmed Khan’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has surprised fans who were eagerly anticipating a reunion of ’90s stars. The film, featuring names like Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon, had generated considerable excitement. However, recent news of Sanjay Dutt’s departure from the project has come as a shock.
Reports indicate that Sanjay Dutt only shot for a day before deciding the project wasn’t right for him. Contrary to speculation that he filmed for 15 days, sources reveal that he left the film over two months ago. While health-related issues are being considered, a report from mid-day highlights that the chaotic set conditions dissuaded Dutt from continuing. A source mentioned, “Managing multiple actors on set without a proper script was challenging. The chaos was too much for Sanjay, so he decided to bow out without wasting the director’s and production’s time.”
The film was officially announced in 2023 with a stellar cast. An announcement video featuring the cast performing a cappella hinted at the humor the film promises to deliver. Besides Akshay Kumar, the ensemble cast includes Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Lara Dutta, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, and Mika Singh, among others.
‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Firoz A. Nadiadwala, is set to hit theaters in December 2024.
