In the wake of the sleeper hit “Good Night” earlier this year, Manikandan has emerged as a sought-after actor in the vibrant world of Kollywood. Having recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film “Lover,” the versatile actor has now secured the lead role in the debut feature film of popular YouTuber Rajeshwar Kalisamy.
Describing the film as a family entertainer infused with humor, Rajeshwar shares, “I’d call it a fam-com! It delves into the adventures that unfold in our everyday lives. Manikandan portrays a young man living with his parents, played by the esteemed actor-director R Sundarrajan and the well-known Nakkalites Dhanam, a familiar face from our YouTube videos.”
Adding to the excitement, Tollywood actress Saanve Megghana is set to make her Tamil debut in the film. Rajeshwar reveals, “Saanve, known for her roles in Telugu films like ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’ and the anthology ‘Pitta Kathalu,’ will be the on-screen partner of Manikandan in our film.”
The film’s cast also features noted actor Guru Somasundaram, who takes on the role of a character with values that stand in stark contrast to those of the protagonist. Rajeshwar describes Somasundaram’s character as the antagonist, adding depth to the storyline.
Set against the backdrop of Coimbatore, the film commences shooting today, promising to capture the essence of the vibrant city. Indie musician Vaisagh, renowned for hits like “Kaaka Kadha” and contributions to “Thunivu,” will be in charge of composing the musical score, elevating the overall cinematic experience.
As anticipation builds for this promising project, fans eagerly await the unveiling of Manikandan’s latest cinematic venture, poised to bring laughter and relatable adventures to the big screen.
