Taking to social media, Arun Bose recently shared a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes preparations for the romantic comedy. The director posted a photo of actors Sarjano Khalid and Win C Aloshious engrossed in reading and practicing their lines, shedding light on the unique challenges posed by the romantic comedy genre.
In a thoughtful note accompanying the pictures, Arun Bose emphasized the deceptive simplicity of romantic comedies, highlighting the inherent risks associated with crafting a compelling narrative with just the lead pair dominating the screen. He expressed the demanding nature of achieving meaningful and organic chemistry, transforming scripted lines into a magical performance through smart choreography.
Arun Bose shared, “Unlike an action, slapstick or a social drama film, a romantic comedy film might look simple. But for a filmmaker, it is aesthetically a risky genre to approach. For most of the run time of the film, you have just the lead pair alone sharing the screen space. And hence their meaningful and organic chemistry is highly demanding to keep the narrative gripping. It has to reshape from the written lines of the script into something more magical with performance and smart choreography of movements. As a director that is my adventure.”
He further expressed his satisfaction with the collaborative process, praising the commitment of his cast, stating, “Loved this pic of Sarjano and Vincy reading and practicing the lines and I get to improvise the choreography of the scene with each reading.
