In an exclusive interview with ETimes, actress Mahima Makwana shared her excitement about her upcoming series ‘SHOWTIME,’ where she is set to collaborate with Emraan Hashmi. Makwana, known for her roles in various TV shows, plays the role of a TV presenter aspiring to be a filmmaker in the series.
Expressing her feelings about entering Bollywood after establishing herself in the TV industry, Mahima said, “I think I was more intimidated by the responsibility because it’s like having a responsibility that one is carrying on one’s shoulders. I am already extremely critical of my job, and I put a lot of pressure on myself. So, definitely, I look at this as a huge, huge responsibility.”
Emraan Hashmi, who is also part of the ‘SHOWTIME’ series, commented on the significance of the project, stating, “This will reveal a lot about our industry.”
Reflecting on the opportunity to work with renowned filmmakers, including Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Mahima expressed her gratitude, saying, “For me, it’s a dream come true situation to be a part of the world that we are all so fascinated about and to work with the makers that I’ve heard of but thought I would never work with as I thought it was not possible. ‘Nahi hoga, nahi hoga.’ So, I think it’s an opportunity that I probably manifested,” she concluded.
Mahima Makwana is set to feature in ‘SHOWTIME’ alongside Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Rajeev Khandelwal, Naseeruddin Shah, and others.
