In a recent revelation, Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel opened up about the reason behind her decision to turn down the iconic film ‘Chalte Chalte’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Patel shared that she was unaware of being offered the film and attributed the missed opportunity to the hierarchical structure of managers and secretaries prevalent in the industry at that time.
During an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Patel recalled her encounter with Shah Rukh Khan in the dubbing studio while working on ‘Humraaz.’ She mentioned that the divide created by individuals managing actors often resulted in missed connections. Patel expressed how renowned directors like Yash Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Sajid Nadiadwala hesitated to approach her due to the complexities of the management hierarchy.
Highlighting the fear directors had in reaching out to her, Patel stated, “There was a lot of that. For a long time, there was a hierarchy of secretaries and managers; they didn’t let projects get to the actors.” This revelation sheds light on the challenges actors face in the industry, where intermediaries play a significant role in determining project collaborations.
Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel was last seen in the super hit film ‘Gadar 2.’
