In a dramatic turn of events amidst the Chennai floods, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, Kollywood actor Vishnu Vishal, along with his wife, and Indian badminton player Jwala Gutta were rescued by the dedicated rescue teams from their homes in Karapakkam. Simultaneously, popular actress Aathmika, who was also stranded in the same area, managed to relocate to a safer place earlier today.
Taking to social media, Aathmika expressed her gratitude for the concern shown by well-wishers, stating, “Finally moved to a safe place now. Thank you for every soul who checked on my well being.” She highlighted the challenging conditions in Karapakkam, emphasizing the lack of essential services such as electricity, food, mobile network, and drinking water, especially in remote areas.
Much appreciation was extended by Aathmika towards the frontline workers engaged in the ongoing rescue operations. She urged collective efforts to prevent such situations in the future, stating, “Hoping we should never face such a situation again, let us collectively work towards the betterment in whatever ways possible!! #Spiritofchennai #ChennaiFloodRelief.”
The actress had earlier shared visuals of the flooded surroundings from her terrace, expressing concern about the water not subsiding in her area. In a tweet, she mentioned, “Water not subsiding at my area #karapakkam. No electricity, network and water for consumption. Hope this reaches the concerned officials!! Praying for everyone’s safety.”
Thankfully, Aathmika, known for her role in the recent Arulnithi-starrer ‘Thiruvin Kural,’ has successfully moved to a safer location from her home. Chennai and its neighboring cities continue to grapple with the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung, which wreaked havoc on December 4, causing extensive flooding. While many areas have returned to normalcy, some regions remain inundated, compelling residents to stay indoors.
