In a recently resurfaced video, Alia Bhatt opened up about why her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, often appears serious and melancholic in photographs. The clip, which dates back to a promotional event for Alia’s film ‘Darlings,’ shows the actress addressing a common observation about Ranbir’s demeanor.
During the event, the hosts questioned Alia about Ranbir’s behavior at home, noting that he frequently looks serious in photos. Alia attributed Ranbir’s somber appearance to his naturally sunken eyes. She further clarified by drawing a parallel to her own experience, mentioning that people often perceive her as tense due to her naturally frowning expression.
“Basically, he has those sunken eyes which make him look either serious or sad, but that is just his face. Like very often, people tell me I look tensed with my frown-focused face, but that’s just how I am. That’s just his face,” Alia explained. She went on to reveal that she is the one who usually brings laughter and smiles to Ranbir’s face.
Alia’s comments come amidst previous discussions about her relationship with Ranbir. In a previous interview, Alia had shared that during their dating days, Ranbir wasn’t fond of her bold lip colors and would often ask her to remove them. This had led to criticism of Ranbir, with some labeling him as a ‘toxic’ husband. However, during an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session, Alia posted an adorable photo with Ranbir kissing her forehead, describing him as her safe haven and emphasizing that he allows her to be her genuine self.
