Amrita Rao is set to make a significant comeback with “Jolly LLB 3,” joining Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in the latest installment of the popular legal drama franchise. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, this casting news marks a reunion of sorts, bringing back elements from the original 2013 sleeper hit “Jolly LLB,” where Rao and Warsi initially starred.
The franchise saw a shift in 2017 with “Jolly LLB 2,” featuring Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles, taking over the mantle from Arshad Warsi. This move led to speculation that Warsi had been replaced, but it was later clarified that the sequel revolved around a different character named Jolly. Now, Kapoor has orchestrated a major casting coup by bringing both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi together for the upcoming third installment.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Amrita Rao’s character from the first film will continue her journey in “Jolly LLB 3,” picking up from where it left off in 2013. The production of the film has already commenced, with a recent shooting schedule completed in May at a remote location in Rajasthan. Rao, best known for her roles in “Main Hoon Na,” “Vivah,” and “Ishq Vishk,” was part of this schedule.
The next phase of filming is set to begin in June, and it will feature all four main characters. This marks Rao’s return to the big screen after her last appearance in the 2019 biographical film “Thackeray,” where she portrayed Meena Tai, the wife of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
“Jolly LLB 3” promises to be a thrilling addition to the franchise, blending the talents of its previous stars with new storylines and character arcs. Fans of the series and the actors are eagerly awaiting this exciting sequel.
