Renowned singer and National Award winner, Bhavatharini, breathed her last on January 25 at the age of 47. The talented artist, also the daughter of music maestro Ilaiyaraaja, succumbed to cancer after a brave battle. Bhavatharini had been diagnosed with stage four cancer a few months ago, leading her to undergo Ayurvedic treatment in Sri Lanka.
Earlier today, the mortal remains of Bhavatharini were transported to her residence in Gudalur, near Chennai, where her final rites are scheduled to take place later in the day. Family and friends, along with members of the film industry, are expected to pay their respects to the late singer.
Expressing their condolences, numerous film personalities mourned the loss of Bhavatharini and offered their support to Ilaiyaraaja during this difficult time. Yesterday evening, the grieving father, music composer Ilaiyaraaja, broke his silence by sharing a poignant throwback photo of himself with his late daughter on social media, accompanied by the simple yet heart-wrenching caption, “Dear daughter.”
Adding to the somber atmosphere, a video has emerged showing the singer’s mortal remains being transported by flight from Sri Lanka to Chennai for the final rites.
