In a thrilling revelation during IGN Fan Fest 2024, Crunchyroll disclosed its latest anime acquisition – the highly awaited “Gods’ Games We Play.” Adapted from Kei Sazane and Toiro Tomose’s light novels, this anime promises to enthrall audiences globally and is slated for release in April 2024.
Under the direction of Tatsuya Shiraishi at the renowned LIDEN FILMS studio, and boasting a stellar cast with Nobunaga Shimazaki as Fay and Akari Kitō as Leoleshea, “Gods’ Games We Play” is poised to captivate anime enthusiasts. The series, set to stream on Crunchyroll across various regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The narrative unfolds in a world where bored gods decide to infuse excitement by creating intricate battles of wits. Humanity becomes their chosen adversary, with selected players known as “apostles” engaging the gods on the spiritual realm’s playing field. Their objective is to outsmart the deities at their own games.
Leshea, a former god awakened after a millennium-long slumber, seeks out “this era’s very best player,” leading her to Fay, an acclaimed rookie apostle. Together, they embark on a daring journey to challenge the capricious, outrageous, and at times incomprehensible gods, aiming to claim the ultimate prize.
