Having collaborated on numerous projects, Eswar highlighted Mammootty’s magical transformations, citing examples from notable films like ‘Peranbu’ and the recent medical thriller ‘Abraham Ozler.’
In an exclusive interview with Team Jango Space, Eswar marveled at Mammootty’s capacity to instantly immerse himself in the essence of each character. He specifically pointed out the portrayals of James and Sundaram in ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ and the character of Alexander in ‘Abraham Ozler.’ According to Eswar, Mammootty’s transitions are so seamless that in a split second, the actor can shift from casual conversation to embodying the depth and nuances of a character.
Recalling a poignant scene from ‘Peranbu,’ where Mammootty’s character engages in a conversation with a sex worker to secure companionship for his daughter, Eswar emphasized the profound impact it had, describing it as unprecedented in world cinema and capable of evoking goosebumps. Eswar also highlighted Mammootty’s dedication to his craft, recounting an incident during the shoot where the actress portraying the sex worker hesitated to physically confront Mammootty’s character. In response, Mammootty, displaying characteristic humility, reassured the actress, stating, “No problem. You can beat on my face,” seamlessly transitioning into character mode when the director called ‘Action.’
