In a surprising turn of events, former co-stars Siri Prahlad and Madhusudhan Govind announced their engagement on Sunday morning, much to the delight of their fans. The engagement ceremony, described as a simple affair, took place in a temple, reflecting the couple’s spiritual inclinations and shared love for cows. The decision to have the ceremony in a location with a Goshala (Cow shelter) held special significance for the duo.
Siri and Madhu, who first crossed paths eight years ago on the sets of the soap-opera Yugalageethe, portrayed the characters Panchami and Arjun, respectively. Despite playing love interests on screen, the two initially maintained a strong friendship after the show concluded. Marriage was the furthest thing from their minds at the time, according to Siri.
Interestingly, it was Madhu’s mother who played a pivotal role in bringing the couple together. Expressing her amusement, Siri shared that Madhu’s mother encouraged him to inquire about Siri’s interest in marriage. Following this unexpected proposal, Siri advised Madhu to discuss the matter with her parents, eventually leading to the connection between their families.
The couple, who discovered they share similar thinking and a passion for films, are set to tie the knot by the end of 2024. Siri expressed her belief that understanding the demands of their profession has strengthened their bond.
As for the unique portmanteau chosen for their wedding hashtag, ‘SiriMadhuWay,’ the actress explained its origin. Wanting to incorporate a local touch as Kannada actors, Siri wanted their full names to be part of the portmanteau. The hashtag is a creative fusion of their names, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, aptly named ‘SiriMadhuWay.’
