In an exciting development, acclaimed actor Darshan is gearing up to bring the character of Sindhoora Lakshmana, an 18th-century revolutionary freedom fighter, to life in his upcoming film. Collaborating once again with director Tharun Sudhir, known for their previous work in Kaatera, this marks Darshan’s third venture into historical cinema after his roles in Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna and Kurukshetra.
Sindhoora Lakshmana played a significant role in the fight against British colonial rule during the Indian independence movement. Hailing from Karnataka, he is celebrated as one of the bravest freedom fighters, earning admiration and reverence from the people.
Expressing his enthusiasm, director Tharun Sudhir shared his joy at working with Darshan for the fourth time. Drawing a distinction between Darshan’s portrayal of Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna and Sindhoora Lakshmana, Tharun highlighted that while Rayanna was a war hero, Lakshmana embodies the spirit of a Robin Hood. This unique perspective promises to offer audiences a distinct cinematic experience.
Reflecting on the film’s subject matter, Tharun emphasized the need for historical accuracy and visual grandiosity. Having witnessed his father play the role of Lakshmana on stage numerous times, Tharun is now tasked with bringing the story to the silver screen, aiming to provide a captivating visual experience while staying true to historical facts.
