In a startling development, Hollywood actor Vin Diesel has been accused of sexual assault by his former assistant, as reported by Variety. The alleged incident dates back to 2010, where the assistant claims Diesel cornered her in a hotel suite, performed inappropriate acts in front of her, and forced her onto a bed.
In response to these serious allegations, Bryan Freedman, the attorney representing Vin Diesel, vehemently denied the claims. Freedman stated, “Vin Diesel categorically denies this claim in its entirety.” He further emphasized that this was the first time Diesel had heard of such allegations, dismissing them as baseless. The attorney also mentioned the existence of evidence that refutes the accusations.
Adding to the controversy, a viral video from 2017’s promotional tour of ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ has resurfaced online. The clip captures Diesel’s interaction with a female journalist from Brazil. Throughout the 1.45-minute video, the actor continually interrupts the journalist’s questions, repeatedly commenting on her appearance and eventually suggesting they leave the interview setting for lunch.
This online resurgence prompted a Twitter user, yungfelakut1, to comment, “I believe her. Remember when he made the interviewer uncomfortable with cutting her off constantly? Vin Diesel has always been a creep.”
Further details from the lawsuit indicate that Diesel’s former assistant allegedly voiced her discomfort and even attempted to flee the situation, yet felt trapped. Subsequently, Samantha Vincent, Diesel’s sister and the head of his company, reportedly terminated the assistant’s employment. The lawsuit, filed under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act of 2022, not only cites sexual battery but also includes claims of gender discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and negligent supervision against Vin Diesel.
