Visakh Subramaniam is basking in the success of his latest film, “Varshangalkku Shesham,” which has become his second hit collaboration with director Vineeth Sreenivasan, following their previous success with “Hridayam.” The film, currently showing in theaters, is projected to gross ₹75 crore worldwide by the upcoming weekend, according to Visakh.
The duo had discussed several ideas following “Hridayam,” but it was the story of “Varshangalkku Shesham” that kept drawing Vineeth back. Visakh encouraged him to develop the script further. “When Vineeth presented the story to his wife, Divya, and me, we were thrilled but also realized the challenges it posed. The narrative spans from the ’70s and ’80s to the present day, requiring extensive set design. Additionally, casting Dhyan Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, and Kalyani Priyadarshan was essential, but it was a wonderful reunion of friends,” Visakh shared.
He also mentioned that he had expressed his wish for a Vishu-Eid release to Vineeth. “Our communication has always been direct, without any intermediaries, allowing us to resolve any issues promptly. Our strong trust makes our partnership comfortable. When Vineeth proposed working together on another project, I was overjoyed,” Visakh added. The pair is aiming to commence filming later this year.
