Mumbai Police swiftly responded to an incident early Sunday morning after two armed assailants fired gunshots outside the Bandra residence of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Video footage from the scene showed Mumbai Police ACP and Encounter Specialist Daya Nayak arriving at Galaxy Apartments, where Khan lives with his parents, to inspect the situation.
Upon receiving reports of gunshots fired outside Khan’s home, Nayak, known for his involvement in several high-profile encounters, arrived at the scene where forensic and ballistics teams had already collected evidence and photographed the bullet marks on the walls and gate of the actor’s residence.
The incident has caused alarm in the neighbourhood and among Khan’s extensive fanbase, raising concerns about his safety despite his existing Y+ security detail.
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle who were captured fleeing the scene after the shooting.
Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan, have reportedly been receiving death threats, notably from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Over the past year, the actor has received multiple threats, including a letter warning of an assassination plot similar to that targeting Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala.
Following these threats, Salman was granted Y+ security, which was extended to his family members in February 2024.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
