In a surprising turn of events, the longstanding camaraderie between Tamil actor Janagaraj and iconic star Kamal Haasan appears to have taken a hit, leaving fans puzzled. The duo, known for their successful collaborations in films like ‘Nayakan’ and ‘Vikram,’ last shared the screen in the 1991 movie ‘Gunaa,’ a topic gaining renewed attention in light of the Malayalam film ‘Manjummel Boys.’
Speculation has arisen regarding Janagaraj’s absence from any subsequent Kamal Haasan projects, prompting inquiries into the apparent rift between the two actors. According to insights shared by producer and filmmaker Rasi Azhagappan, along with an assistant director on the ‘Gunaa’ sets, the discord emerged during a pivotal dubbing session at AVM Garden Theatre.
Azhagappan disclosed that Kamal Haasan and Janagaraj, once close friends hailing from the same Alwarpet neighborhood in Chennai, found their friendship strained during the dubbing session. The disagreement unfolded between Janagaraj and fellow actor RS Shivaji over the delivery of lines, escalating into a physical altercation. Despite supervision from Azhagappan and director Santhana Bharathi, Janagaraj stood firm against redoing the dubbing as suggested by Shivaji. Surprisingly, Kamal Haasan sided with Bharathi’s perspective, leaving Janagaraj hurt by the incident.
The incident, occurring during the making of ‘Gunaa,’ has since cast a shadow over the once amicable relationship between Janagaraj and Kamal Haasan, leaving fans curious about the future prospects of their on-screen collaborations.
