Actor Karthi, who recently completed his 25th film ‘Jpan,’ is currently busy shooting for ‘Karthi 26’ alongside director Nalan Kumarasamy. While news of the project surfaced a couple of months ago, official confirmation from the makers was only released yesterday, accompanied by a muhurat pujah video.
The upcoming film is anticipated to be a quirky entertainer, with Karthi portraying the character of a devoted fan of the late actor and politician MG Ramachandran. A 2-minute clip shared on social media offers a sneak peek into the film’s production, featuring a clapboard adorned with MGR’s picture. The muhurat pujah was attended by Karthi’s brother, Suriya, and father, Sivakumar. Veteran actor Sivakumar performed the muhurat pujah, and Suriya clapped for the first sequence of the movie.
The filmmakers are gearing up to unveil the title and first look poster shortly. Speculations suggest the film will be titled ‘Vaa Vaathiyare,’ boasting a star-studded cast including Karthi, Krithi Shetty, Gautham Karthik, Sathyaraj, and Anandraj. Santhosh Narayanan is set to compose the music for the movie.
In addition to ‘Karthi 26,’ the actor is also working on his 27th film, tentatively titled ‘Mei Azhagan.’ Directed by Prem Kumar, this family emotional drama features Karthi, Arvind Swamy, Swathi Konde, and Sri Divya in lead roles. The music for the film is reportedly being composed by Govind Vasantha.
Looking ahead, Karthi has two more projects in the pipeline, including ‘Karthi 28’ with Mari Selvaraj and ‘Karthi 30’ with Tamizh. Stay tuned for further updates on the actor’s busy schedule.
