British actress Jodie Turner-Smith has openly discussed her separation from Canadian actor Joshua Jackson in a recent interview with The Times. The ‘Queen & Slim’ star acknowledged that despite their efforts, some things just don’t work out, emphasizing the importance of choosing what’s healthiest for oneself, family, and children.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, decided to part ways last year, with Turner-Smith filing for divorce in October 2023. They share a three-year-old daughter, Juno Jackson. The actress expressed that she is currently in a positive place in her life, describing it as “insane” and expressing her love for her work.
“I feel like the world is my oyster. I’m pinching myself; it’s exciting!” Turner-Smith exclaimed. She emphasized her passion for her profession, expressing excitement, thrill, and fulfillment, with a focus on continuous growth and improvement while ensuring self-care and care for those around her.
Regarding her divorce, Turner-Smith reflected on the various moments in life when individuals question their authenticity and emphasized the importance of making a move if staying in a situation is not beneficial. She viewed the decision to separate as a brave step, asserting that it’s not a failure but rather a transition to a new chapter.
“The big takeaway is that this is about just as much love and joy as it has always been. This is only about taking a step forward into a better life for everybody involved,” she stated.
Turner-Smith, who recently wrapped up filming ‘The Acolyte,’ a ‘Star Wars’ franchise TV series, has another project in the works titled ‘Bad Monkey,’ co-starring Vince Vaughn. She was interviewed in Vancouver while filming ‘Tron: Ares,’ a sequel to the 2010 sci-fi film “Tron: Legacy.”
