Emmy-winning actress Julia Garner has secured the female lead role in the upcoming “Wolf Man” film produced by Blumhouse and Universal. The project marks a reunion for Garner and actor Christopher Abbott, who previously shared the screen in the 2011 film “Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene,” as reported by Variety.
Renowned filmmaker Leigh Whannell, known for directing 2020’s “The Invisible Man” for Universal and Blumhouse, will be at the helm of “Wolf Man.” The film’s storyline revolves around a family facing terror from a deadly predator.
In this suspenseful tale, Garner, an Emmy winner for her role in Netflix’s “Ozark,” will portray the mother, while Abbott, recognized for his performances in “A Most Violent Year” and “It Comes at Night,” will assume the role of the father.
Written by Whannell, Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo, “Wolf Man” is scheduled for release on October 25, 2024, in the United States.
Adding star power to the project, Hollywood icon Ryan Gosling will serve as the executive producer, having initially considered starring in the film before passing on the role. Abbott joined the cast in December 2023.
Executive producers for “Wolf Man” also include Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell, promising a compelling collaboration in the making.
