Kornel Mundruczó, known for “Pieces of a Woman,” has announced the addition of five prominent actors to his upcoming drama “At the Sea.” Brett Goldstein, Chloe East, Daniel Levy, Jenny Slate, and Rainn Wilson join previously confirmed stars Amy Adams and Murray Bartlett in the film, currently filming near Boston.
“At the Sea” centers on Laura (played by Adams), who returns to her family’s beach house after a lengthy rehabilitation. There, she must navigate the complexities of her former life, adjusting to a new chapter without her once prominent career.
Producing the project are Alexander Rodnyansky, Stuart Manashil, Alex Lebovici, Jon Oakes, Viktória Petrányi, Kornel Mundruczó, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and executive producers Paul J. Diaz, Maria Breese, Lee Broda, Jeff Rice, Michael Kupisk, Walter Josten, and Patrick Josten.
Financing is provided by AR Content, Diaz, and Hammerstone Studios, with WME Independent handling domestic rights and Capstone Pictures overseeing international distribution. Production legalities are managed by Sacker Law.
Goldstein, known for his Emmy-winning role in “Ted Lasso,” also co-created and produced the series “Shrinking” and hosts the podcast “Films to Be Buried With.” East, recognized for roles in “The Fabelmans” and “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” is set to appear in the upcoming thriller “Heretic.” Levy, co-creator of “Schitt’s Creek,” recently starred in “Good Grief” and has upcoming projects including “The Smurfs Movie” and “Animal Friends.” Slate, acclaimed for “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” released her comedy special “Seasoned Professional” and stars in FX’s “Dying for Sex.” Wilson, famed for “The Office,” features in “Ezra” and executive produces “Rainn Wilson and The Geography of Bliss.”
