In a remarkable feat for the latest Malayalam release, ‘Manjummel Boys,’ the survival thriller has achieved unprecedented success in Tamil Nadu, accumulating an impressive box office collection of over Rs 15 crore, as reported by trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai. The film, directed by Chidambaram, features a stellar cast including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, and Lal Jr. in lead roles.
Surpassing the 11-day mark, ‘Manjummel Boys’ has set a new record by becoming the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam film in Tamil Nadu, surpassing Jude Antony Joseph’s ‘2018.’ The movie achieved this milestone from a notable 221 screens, with a historical collection of Rs 15 crore.
Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai shared the accomplishment on social media, stating, “#ManjummelBoys Epic Blockbuster in #TN! 2nd weekend bigger than 1st. All-time highest-grossing Malayalam film in TN – ₹15 Cr + in 11 days from 221 screens! Historical Hit! P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L!”
Adding to the surprising success, the film’s occupancy in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, March 3, reached an impressive 74.00%.
The global appeal of ‘Manjummel Boys’ is evident in its remarkable worldwide collection of Rs 79.65 crore. The India net collection stands at Rs 46.75 crore, with a gross of Rs 44.65 crore. The film has also made a significant impact on the overseas box office, amassing Rs 35 crore.
Notably, the survival thriller has garnered praise from legendary actor Kamal Haasan himself, further cementing its position as a cinematic triumph.
