Amid playful jabs from original star Wesley Snipes about the repeated postponements of Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’ reboot, Mia Goth, a key player in the upcoming film, suggests that patience will pay off for fans.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on November 7, 2025, ‘Blade’ has seen significant upheavals behind the scenes. Yann Demange, the project’s most recent director, departed recently. This follows the earlier exit of Bassam Tariq, who was initially slated to direct the movie, but will now continue in an executive producer role.
Goth, speaking to Deadline at the premiere of her latest film ‘MaXXXine’, emphasized the dedication of the team behind ‘Blade’. “They really care, they do. They want to make a great movie. That’s the sense that I get from them and that feels good,” she stated.
Goth is set to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in ‘Blade’ as Lilith, a significant supernatural antagonist in the comics known for her attempts to drain the blood of Blade’s daughter.
The production of ‘Blade’ faced additional delays last year due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Eric Pearson, known for his work on ‘Agent Carter’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, and ‘Black Widow’, is currently handling the script.
In ‘MaXXXine’, which hits theaters on July 5, Goth reprises her role from ‘X’. This A24 film, co-written with director Ti West, follows Maxine (played by Goth), the sole survivor of the events of ‘X’, as she navigates her way to fame in 1980s Los Angeles.
