In a significant development at the box office, the latest film ‘Shaitaan,’ starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, has been creating a buzz with its impressive performance. The Vikas Bahl directorial opened with double-digit figures and experienced a notable surge in earnings on its first Saturday.
Adding to the anticipation, several cinemas and multiplexes in Mumbai have introduced midnight shows from Saturday, March 9. Late-night screenings, commencing at 11:55 pm, have become a popular trend across various theaters in the city. Noteworthy multiplexes like Cinepolis Andheri, Maison Inox BKC, and MovieMax Mira Road have even scheduled shows as late as 11:59 pm.
Bollywood Hungama reports that Cinepolis Viviana Mall in Thane is set to host two shows starting at 11:59 pm, both witnessing a surge in bookings, indicating the growing popularity of ‘Shaitaan.’
The film, a remake of the 2023 Gujarati-language movie ‘Vash,’ features Madhavan in the role of a man who intrudes into the vacation home of Ajay and Jyotika’s characters, placing a spell on their daughter and taking control. A special screening on March 7 saw the presence of the cast, their families, and notable figures from the film industry, including Kartik Aaryan, Vatsal Seth, Vikas Bahl, and Aanand L Rai. Directed by Vikas Bahl, ‘Shaitaan’ hit theaters on March 9.
