Mohanlal has confirmed that Drishyam 3 is in the pipeline, though he admitted it is a challenge to craft a sequel worthy of the love the franchise has received.
In an interview with India Today Digital, he shared that while the project is in progress, creating a compelling follow-up is a significant task for the team. Mohanlal also expressed openness to the idea of a crossover with Ajay Devgn, who starred in the Hindi remake, saying, “Let it happen.
I will also pray for that.” Drishyam 2, directed by Jeethu Joseph, was a massive success in Malayalam, and its Hindi adaptation featuring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and others crossed ₹300 crore worldwide in 2022.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is busy promoting his directorial debut, Barroz 3D, a Malayalam fantasy thriller, which also released in Hindi on December 25. The film stars Mohanlal alongside Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Raton, and others. Ajay Devgn, on the other hand, will next be seen in Azad.
