On Friday evening, Ilaiyaraaja posted the nostalgic photo on his social media handle with an emotional caption in Tamil that simply reads, “Dear daughter.” The heartfelt tribute comes as the music industry mourns the untimely passing of Bhavatharini, who succumbed to cancer at the age of 47 on Thursday. The singer had been undergoing medical treatment in Sri Lanka after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few months prior.
Despite seeking Ayurvedic therapy for five months, Bhavatharini’s health deteriorated, leading to her demise. Her mortal remains were brought back to Chennai on Friday, where a final cremation ceremony took place. The film fraternity expressed condolences to Ilaiyaraaja and his family, with prominent figures such as Kamal Haasan expressing their grief on social media.
Actor Kamal Haasan took to social media to convey his heartfelt condolences, stating in Tamil that he does not know how to console his brother Ilaiyaraaja. He pledged to support Ilaiyaraaja through this difficult time and emphasized the profound impact of Bhavatharini’s loss.
