In a remarkable feat, the Naslen and Mamitha Baiju starrer ‘Premalu’ has asserted its dominance at the box office, crossing the impressive Rs 50 crore milestone on its fourteenth day of release. Directed by Girish AD, the teen romantic comedy made its theatrical debut on February 9.
During the initial 13 days of its cinematic journey, ‘Premalu’ garnered a substantial net collection of Rs 26.20 crore across India. The film’s success story soared to new heights as it continued to attract audiences, raking in an estimated Rs 1.15 crore on its fourteenth day, Thursday, February 22.
With a global box office collection surpassing Rs 51.9 crore on its 14th day, ‘Premalu’ stands out, especially considering its modest production budget and the involvement of young talents in leading roles.
Despite facing competition from the release of the new Malayalam film ‘Manjummel Boys’ on Thursday, which secured more theaters and seats, ‘Premalu’ remained largely unaffected. Even the Mammootty starrer ‘Bramayugam’ experienced some impact, but ‘Premalu’ stood its ground.
The film’s financial success is noteworthy, and it maintained an impressive 29.87% Malayalam occupancy in theaters on its fourteenth day.
Directed by Girish AD, ‘Premalu’ features Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles, with Althaf Salim, Meenakshi Raveendran, and Akhila Bhargavan playing pivotal characters in this romantic comedy.
