Filmmaker Blessy’s highly anticipated film ‘Aadujeevitham’ is scheduled to release on March 28, marking a significant moment in Malayalam cinema. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, the movie has been a 16-year journey for both Blessy and Sukumaran, who decided to collaborate on the project in 2009.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Prithviraj Sukumaran praised Blessy’s unwavering conviction, describing it as his most significant takeaway from working with the acclaimed director. He highlighted that when they initially agreed to work on ‘Aadujeevitham’, Blessy was the most sought-after filmmaker in Malayalam cinema. Despite having numerous opportunities to work on other projects, Sukumaran emphasized his commitment to ‘Aadujeevitham’, which he believed in deeply.
“When he decided to do this film, he was the highest paid director in Malayalam cinema. He was the most coveted filmmaker in Malayalam. Every big star wanted to do at least one film with him. And he had a whole host of producers and big stars,” Sukumaran told Hindustan Times.
Blessy’s dedication to ‘Aadujeevitham’ over 16 years deeply impressed Sukumaran, who acknowledged the filmmaker’s commitment to the project. He stated, “The conviction Blessy had itself moved me,” adding that working on a Blessy film is a milestone that every actor aspires to achieve at least once in their lifetime.
Meanwhile, ‘Aadujeevitham’ is an adaptation of Benyamin’s best-selling novel, inspired by true events. The film has generated significant buzz ahead of its release, with impressive pre-booking numbers. In just 13 hours of pre-booking, ‘Aadujeevitham’ sold over 63,000 tickets, collecting a Kerala gross of Rs 1.3 crore.
