Renowned actor R. Madhavan expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Ajay Devgn after decades in the showbiz industry, marking their first venture together in the supernatural thriller, “Shaitaan,” directed by Vikas Bahl. The film features the duo in a riveting showdown.
Madhavan, reflecting on working with Ajay, shares his admiration for the seasoned actor’s craft, stating, “I have been in the industry long enough to know that I have been a huge fan of Ajay Devgn’s work. I did not get a chance to interact with him before this movie, and I have really seen him act, and I have been a huge fan of the way he emotes subtlety and does the kind of role he does.”
During discussions about the film, Madhavan highlights Ajay’s humility, emphasizing, “Even during the publicity, he doesn’t take credit and walks away. I can tell you that if there is any Singham, the real Singham of the industry, then it is this man (pointing at Ajay) over here who I became a huge fan.”
Ajay, known for his versatility, expresses enthusiasm for returning to the supernatural genre, stating, “This is the kind of genre I have been waiting to do since a long time.” He recalls his previous venture into the genre with “Bhoot” alongside Ram Gopal Varma, acknowledging the universal fascination with elements like black magic.
The film, with Vashikaran as a central theme, prompts Madhavan to shed light on its broader implications, stating, “Vashikaran is not always about what we see in films. Social media bhi aapko vashikaran kar deta hai. See what happened with Blue Whale… log apne kaboo mein nahi rehte hai.”
Ajay adds insights into the enduring popularity of horror and supernatural genres, noting, “Bhale film me stars ho ya na ho Ramsay Brothers ki films chalti thi. I got appreciation for Bhoot, but uske baad aisi films hi nahi mili.”
The film also features South actress Jyothika, making a comeback to Bollywood after 25 years. She expresses her excitement about returning with a project like “Shaitaan” and praises Ajay Devgn’s professionalism.
Producer Kumar Mangat hints at the possibility of a sequel, while Madhavan’s portrayal of an evil character has garnered attention, even leaving his wife spooked. Madhavan shares a humorous anecdote about his wife’s reaction to the film’s trailer.
As the film gains momentum, it appears that Madhavan is poised to be seen in a different light, with both filmmakers and audiences anticipating a unique and captivating cinematic experience.
