Teaming up with renowned lyricist Rafeeq Ahamed, Udhas lent his soulful voice to the Malayalam ghazal titled ‘Aatmashaila Nirakal,’ featured in the 2011 album ‘Ennumee Swaram.’ The composition by Jitesh Sundaran turned this ghazal into a masterpiece that resonated deeply with listeners.
A Padmashri awardee, Pankaj Udhas had a versatile career spanning decades. Notably, in 1990, he achieved tremendous success with the duet “Mahiya Teri Kasam” alongside the legendary Lata Mangeshkar in the film Ghayal. His musical journey also includes timeless songs like “Na Kajre Ki Dhar” with Sadhana Sargam for the 1994 film Mohra.
