In a much-anticipated development, the Malayalam thriller ‘Secret Home,’ featuring Aparna Das, Chandhunadh, Sshivada, and Anu Mohan, has officially confirmed its theatrical release date. Directed by Abhayakumar K, this gripping drama is set to hit the big screen on March 15 after facing delays, partly attributed to the unexpected strike by the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK).
Originally slated for a March 1 release, ‘Secret Home’ is among several films affected by the FEUOK strike and the continuing success of other box office hits like ‘Bramayugam,’ ‘Premalu,’ ‘Manjummel Boys,’ and ‘Anweshippin Kandethum.’ The rescheduling of films in February became necessary amidst uncertainties and disruptions in the Malayalam film industry.
The narrative of ‘Secret Home’ unfolds in the Kottayam region of Kerala, revolving around four individuals caught up in a gruesome crime within a mysterious mansion concealing numerous secrets. The film’s teaser hints at a suspenseful thriller with psychological elements reminiscent of Spanish thrillers like ‘The Body’ or ‘The Invisible Guest.’
Despite the delay in its release, the teaser has successfully piqued the audience’s curiosity, promising an engaging storyline without revealing any spoilers. The postponement only adds to the suspense, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the unraveling of troubling events from the enigmatic house’s past.
