The 18th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is all set to kick off from June 15th to 21st in Mumbai, promising an exciting lineup of events and discussions. With a focus on engaging industry luminaries and fostering collaboration, MIFF will feature 20 masterclasses, in-conversations, and panel discussions. Renowned filmmakers such as Santosh Sivan, Audrius Stonys, Ketan Mehta, Richie Mehta, T.S Nagabharana, and Georges Schwizgebel are among the distinguished guests who will share their insights and experiences.
One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the introduction of the DOC Film Bazaar, aimed at bolstering film production by providing a platform for filmmakers to connect with potential buyers, sponsors, and collaborators. With nearly 200 projects received from 10 countries in 27 languages, the Bazaar will showcase a diverse range of works. Three curated verticals – the ‘Co-production Market’, ‘Work-in-progress (WIP) Lab’, and ‘Viewing Room’ – will offer selected projects valuable exposure and opportunities for development.
In addition to project-specific initiatives, MIFF will also host an ‘Open Buyer-Seller Meet’, facilitating connections between filmmakers and industry stakeholders in production, syndication, acquisition, distribution, and sales. A dedicated session will delve into the intersection of documentary filmmaking and corporate branding, exploring the potential for CSR funding to enhance brand visibility and drive positive societal change.
MIFF promises to be a dynamic platform for filmmakers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to exchange ideas, forge partnerships, and celebrate the art of cinema.
