Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara achieved major recognition at the 70th National Film Awards held on August 16, winning both the Best Actor award and the Best Entertaining Film award. Following his win, Shetty expressed his profound joy and gratitude, stating, “I am truly overwhelmed by the honour of this National Award for Kantara.” He extended his thanks to the dedicated team of artists, technicians, and particularly to Hombale Films for their support throughout the journey.
The actor also acknowledged the crucial role of fans and audiences in the film’s success, saying, “The audiences have made this film what it is, and their support fills me with a deep sense of responsibility. I am committed to working even harder to bring an even better film to our viewers.” Shetty dedicated the award to the Kannada audience, the Daiva Nartakas, and Appu sir, while also expressing gratitude to the divine for the blessings that contributed to this achievement.
In related news, a prequel to Kantara titled Kantara: Chapter 1 was announced earlier this year, featuring Rishab Shetty as Kaadubettu Shiva. Last year, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise received the 69th National Award for Best Actor and Best Music Direction.
