In the bustling city of Bengaluru, where residents often bemoan the infamous traffic congestion, a love story has emerged that found its roots in the midst of gridlocked roads. Actors Sangeetha Bhat and Sudarshan Rangaprasad share their unique journey, turning frustrating traffic jams into cherished moments of connection that ultimately led to marriage.
Their story began on a film set, where Sudarshan stepped into the role of Sangeetha’s on-screen ex-boyfriend. The initial interaction took place through Facebook, with Sudarshan playfully addressing her as ‘ex-girlfriend’ in reference to their on-screen roles. As film commitments increased, so did their travel time to and from sets, providing them the opportunity to bond during traffic delays.
“The only time we got to speak was when we were stuck in traffic jams, and that’s also when our love blossomed. The Jayanagar 4th Block signal means a lot to us both since that’s where we kind of admitted we have feelings for each other,” reflects Sangeetha.
Their courtship included memorable moments like Sudarshan surprising Sangeetha with a scooter, a gesture that held sentimental value despite the financial strain it imposed. “It took me about three years to pay off the loan, but it was a great feeling to sit behind her while she rode around town,” says Sudharshan.
The challenges of navigating Bengaluru’s traffic to meet each other only strengthened their bond. Sudarshan humorously remarks, “I used to stay in Mathikere, and she stayed in BTM Layout. Going across Bengaluru every day is like crossing the seven seas. If this isn’t true love, then what is?”
The couple reminisces about the significance of certain locations in the city, particularly BTM Layout and Koramangala, where they spent quality time exploring local eateries. Additionally, trips to Malleswaram for traditional bakeries became cherished memories, reinforcing the idea that love can flourish even in the midst of a bustling metropolis.
