Filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan addresses allegations of outraging the modesty of a prominent actress and explains the situation on Instagram. He claims the case stems from his public warnings about the actress’s safety. Sasidharan mentions that a previous case filed three years ago remains unresolved. He maintains that all his statements are based on truth and urges the public and media to investigate the matter.
Filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has responded to the recent case filed against him at the Elamakkara Police Station in Ernakulam, where he faces accusations of outraging the modesty of a prominent actress. Sasidharan took to Instagram to address the matter, clarifying his stance and offering an explanation regarding the allegations.
Sasidharan expressed, via an Instagram post, that the case, similar to previous ones, stems from his public statements warning about the actress’s safety, claiming that she was not allowed to be seen or spoken to. He believes the case is again being pursued based on the actress’s complaint, despite the fact that a previous case registered in her name three years ago is still unresolved. According to Sasidharan, there has been no investigation or progress in that case, nor have any statements or evidence been presented.
“I saw the news that a case has been registered against me again at Elamakkara Police Station on charges of insulting womanhood. As usual, the reason for the case is my statement to the public that your life is in danger and that you are not allowed to be seen or spoken to,” Sasidharan wrote, addressing the current situation. He further added that before publicly voicing his concerns, he had informed the actress, her family, and close friends about the dangers she was facing.
He added, “This case is reportedly based on the actress’s complaint. I believe this case is against you once again. The false case that was registered in your name three years ago has not yet been investigated, nor has your statement been recorded, nor have any pieces of evidence been presented. Before I made my statement to the public regarding the concerns for your life, I had already informed you, your family, and close friends. Despite the situation where I wasn’t allowed to speak to you, and the disturbing living conditions that you yourself spoke about, I shared it publicly, backed by the recording of our conversation. Although I tried to prevent public discussion of that recording, I couldn’t stop it, which is why now, just like last time, a case has been registered at Elamakkara Police Station in the middle of the night. This is to intimidate me and others who might discuss it. Once again, I believe this is happening without your knowledge. Last time, in order to bring me to Elamakkara Police Station, they wrote my address as ‘Unknown Ernakulam.’ This time, I don’t know what it is. Anyway, one thing is certain: this police case is meant to ensure that you don’t make a public statement or hold a press conference about the true state of affairs.”
The ‘Kayattam’ director concluded by saying, “Regarding the case, I have no fear. Everything I said was the truth.” Sasidharan also expressed his concern for the actress’s well-being, urging the public to protect her and requesting the media to investigate the truth of the case.
