In a notable shift from his comedic roles, actor Santhanam has established himself as a lead protagonist. Following successful ventures in leading roles, Santhanam has become synonymous with the horror comedy franchise ‘Dhilliku Dhuddu.’ Having featured in both ‘DD’ and its sequel ‘DD Returns,’ the actor is now set to star in the third installment, aptly titled ‘DD Returns 2.’ The official launch of the film took place at a recent event, with director Prem Anand, who directed the previous installments, returning to helm the project. Arya, under his production banner, will be producing the film.
The announcement occurred during a press event for Santhanam’s other project, ‘Vadakkupatti Ramasamy.’ The cast and crew details, along with the plot, are yet to be disclosed, heightening anticipation among Santhanam’s fanbase and enthusiasts of the horror comedy genre.
‘DD Returns 1’ marks the second collaboration between Santhanam and Arya. While they previously shared the screen as co-stars in ‘Boss Engira Bhaskaran,’ this film signifies their collaboration in the capacities of producer and actor.
In the midst of these developments, Santhanam is gearing up for the release of ‘Vadakkupatti Ramasamy,’ directed by Karthik Yogi. Featuring a cast that includes Santhanam, Megha Akash, Rajendran, John Vijay, MS Bhaskar, and Nizhalgal Ravim, the film is scheduled to hit Tamil theaters on February 2.
