Lollu Sabha actor Seshu, known as Lakshmi Narayanan Seshu, passed away on March 26 at the age of 60 in a private hospital in Chennai. He was admitted to the hospital on March 15 after suffering a heart attack.
Seshu gained fame for his comic roles and made his film debut in Dhanush’s “Thulluvadho Ilamai”. However, he became widely recognized for his work in the television show “Lollu Sabha”. He further cemented his reputation with roles in Santhanam’s films such as “A1”, “Dikkiloona”, “Gulu Gulu”, and most recently “Vadakkupatti Ramasamy”.
Rambhala, the director of “Dhilluku Dhuddu” and also the director of “Lollu Sabha”, fondly remembered his 22-year bond with the late actor. “Seshu and I had a 22-year bond. Whenever I wrote the script, I always gave a special character to him because he had a great ability to depict a character,” said the director. Rambhala highlighted Seshu’s dedication and hard work, emphasizing his recent rise in popularity among audiences.
The director also shed light on Seshu’s philanthropic side, which was not widely known. “One important thing about Seshu is he helped a lot of people. He’d helped many poor children with their education and donated money for the marriages of those in need,” he shared.
Recalling their last meeting, Rambhala said, “He wanted to see our entire Lollu Sabha team together and his wish came true when we celebrated the show’s 20th anniversary recently. He was in tears at the event and remarked, ‘I’ve seen all of us together, and that’s enough for me.’ We all rushed together to his home after hearing the news and stayed there till the funeral.”
